Car dealership expansions among Maine projects underway

Yankee Ford in South Portland

Priority Real Estate Group of Topsham is in the middle of building or expanding new sites for three Ford dealerships.

The Yankee Ford at 165 Waterman St. in South Portland will have a new showroom and larger service area, with a November completion planned.

In Thomaston, Priority is developing a $7 million, 20,000-square-foot dealership on Moody Drive to house Rockland Ford. It will open in February 2020.

The first makeover was for Tucker Ford, which moved into 28,500 square feet at 262 Bath Road in Brunswick last year.

All three dealerships are owned by Bob Esposito and Stephen Goodrich; Anthony Esposito, Bob’s son, is a partner in Rockland Ford. The Tucker in Brunswick is Tucker Ciancette, the GM. Lajoie Bros. of Augusta is handling the construction.

Priority Real Estate, which is involved in Brunswick Landing and develops Irving-Rusty Lantern convenience stories, typically shepherds projects from A to Z, says President and CEO Jim Howard. “With most of our work, we find a location, secure the permits, work with the banks, build it and then hand over the keys,” he told Mainebiz. “We’ve had such a good experience with Jim,” says Esposito. “Everything is on time and on budget.”
